BASA Awards 2025 Sets Out to Celebrate the Adhesives and Sealants Industry in the UK & Ireland

BASA, the adhesives and sealants association for the UK & Ireland, is excited to announce that the second edition of BASA Awards will be taking place on Thursday 6th November 2025 at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham.

Building from the success of the first ever BASA Awards last year, the gala evening returns to a centrally located, elegant venue for an unmissable celebration of the best of the UK & Ireland’s adhesives and sealants industry. The ceremony includes a three course meal, hosted by television-famous stand-up comedian Jimmy McGhie, who has been described as “a brilliant talent” (The Scotsman) with “an easy charm and appealing relaxed manner” (Chortle). Entertainment continues with a live band, magician and disco.

BASA acts as the voice for the adhesives and sealants industry in the UK & Ireland, representing and promoting the sector, providing technical and compliance guidance, creating networking opportunities, and offering a range of support services. It is an association run for members, by members, with its greatest strength being the experience and expertise of the volunteers who serve on its working groups and task forces. BASA Awards 2025 sets out once again to celebrate the greatest innovations in chemicals – a fundamental cornerstone of the automation, control and engineering industry.

From advanced materials and speciality compounds to process chemicals that enable cleaner, safer, and more efficient manufacturing, adhesives and sealants continue to fuel the evolution of automated systems, precision controls, and smart engineering solutions. This synergy is underpinned by BASA’s motto: ‘Bonding together for a sustainable future.’

The UK & Ireland’s adhesives and sealants industry represents over £1.2 billion in annual demand. The Awards evening brings together some of its biggest names, demonstrating excellence, innovation and leadership across eight prestigious categories. Through its support, the event gives back to the adhesives and sealants industry, plus raises funds for the Chair’s annually nominated charity.

Now closed for entry in 2025, the categories are: Community Engagement; Best Sustainability Initiative – sponsored by PALEUS Acrylics; Innovation – sponsored by Azelis UK Ltd; Future Leader; Apprentice of the Year; Excellence in Training & Development; Excellence in Supply & Services – sponsored by F. Ball and Co. Ltd; and Manufacturer of the Year.

As the pinnacle of the Awards evening, the Manufacturer of the Year is offered by invitation only to applicants who have demonstrated outstanding performance in at least two categories with demonstrable commitment to sustainable growth of business in the UK.

At the 2024 BASA Awards, over 100 delegates gathered to celebrate the industry’s outstanding achievements. Winners included Advanced Adhesives Ltd, ARDEX UK, Azelis UK Ltd, BASF plc, F. Ball and Co. Ltd, Rakem Group and Power Adhesives Ltd. These varied companies demonstrate the wide pool of accomplishment in the sector, with BASA’s membership spanning from adhesives manufacturing through to distribution and supply as well as industry and machinery manufacturers.

Emerging as one of the biggest winners of BASA Awards 2024, F. Ball and Co. Ltd was shortlisted in a number of categories and won the Process Safety Award and Product Packaging Award, in addition to securing the top prize of the Manufacturer of the Year Award. Commenting on F. Ball’s awards success, managing director Darren Kenyon said: “We are delighted to have won the coveted Manufacturer of the Year Award and be recognised for our commitment to sustainability and health and safety, as well as innovation across such a wide range of categories.” Darren continued: “We’d also like to congratulate BASA on hosting a fantastic event for the inaugural BASA Awards.”

Another standout success from last year was Power Adhesives Ltd, who won the Environment and Sustainability Initiative Award for Tecbond 214B, its fully-certified biodegradable packaging adhesive, in addition to receiving recognition for its developing talent, with Deanna Coldwell achieving a commendation in the Young Achiever category for her breakthroughs in the development and standards for Vactac, Power Adhesives’ range of hot melts formulated for use in composites production.

As we lead up to BASA Awards 2025, companies and individuals are now eagerly securing their tickets, anticipating who will receive this year’s distinguished commendations.

Lorna Williams, CEO of BASA, commented: “I am incredibly proud that BASA Awards is able to recognise the hard work and exceptional output from our industry. It offers the opportunity for companies in our sector to elevate their profile, align their brand with excellence, and give back to the industry that has given us so much. It was wonderful to see so many members and guests in attendance last year and I am glad to see the continuing support for the Awards evening into 2025. Best of luck to all this year’s entrants!”
