LORIEN LAUNCHES SEARCH FOR ENGINEERING STARS OF TOMORROW

Lorien Engineering Solutions has launched its graduate recruitment scheme for 2019, which has been extended to include all engineering disciplines.

The engineering and project management business, based in Burton-upon-Trent, UK and Wroclaw, Poland, works with some of Europe’s top food and drink, brewing and pharmaceutical manufacturers.

Lorien’s graduate scheme provides young engineers with a platform to learn and develop on the job. This influx of new talent plays an important role in the ongoing growth of the business.

This year’s successful applicants could follow in the footsteps of young Lorien engineer Lou Charpentier-Dusoir, who was named Graduate Learner of the Year at the Engineering Construction Industry Training and Development Awards 2018. Lorien also received a commendation in the SME of the Year category.

Applications for 2019 will be reviewed in May and successful candidates will join the firm in September.

Tom Holmes and Joel Herbert joined the graduate scheme in 2018. Tom joined as a Graduate Engineer in the packaging department after graduating in Mechanical Engineering with Manufacturing at the University of Bath.

Joel is a Graduate Engineer in the electrical and control department. He undertook a degree in Electronic Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University, which included a placement year with an automation and control company, where he designed and implemented control systems.

Lorien Senior Vice President Eric Rodgers said: “Our aim is to meet the skills challenge head on. We are proud of our graduate scheme because it identifies emerging talent and gives young engineers a platform to learn and develop while injecting fresh thinking into the industry.

“The scheme grows every year and now includes all engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, architectural, civil and structural. You don’t have to be fresh out of University to apply. Our aim is to attract the best candidates and give them the experience and skills to flourish.”

Lorien, a division of GP Strategies Corporation, specialises in capital projects for food, brewing, drinks, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, logistics and safety compliance.
